Seeking a philosophical perspective

Frank Schalow

pp. 3-23

This chapter examines the importance of developing a philosophical perspective to address the problem addiction, in contrast to other approaches in the fields of behavioral psychology, sociology, and medicine. The philosophical approach arises primarily from the phenomenological methodology of Martin Heidegger, although other thinkers, literary figures, and psychotherapists assume prominence throughout the investigation.
