This is the first of two issues drawing on papers presented at a conference held at the University of Bonn, October 26–28 2017, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution—“Russian Thinkers: Between the Revolution and Tradition.” The organizers of the conference were Marina Bykova, Lina Steiner, and Michael Forster. The second instalment will be published as the first issue of SEET in 2019. Thanks to Marina Bykova for selecting the papers.
