Definitions in Russell, in the Vienna-circle and in the Lvov-Warsaw school

Paul Weingartner

pp. 225-247

The purpose of this paper is to compare the views on definition held by Russell and some important members of the Vienna Circle on the one hand and by members of the Lvov-Warsaw School on the other. Particularly I shall review important points in the views on definition of Russell, Carnap, Schlick, Hempel and of Ajdukiewicz, Leśniewski and Tarski.
