Hugo Fischer

German philosopher and sociologist. Studied philosophy, history, sociology and indology in Leipzig. Close to the "Leipzig School" of Arnold Gehlen and Hans Freyer. Editor of the "Blätter für deutsche Philosophie", member of Ernst Jünger's national-revolutionary circle. Took part in the German resistance (Widerstand) from 1933. Emigrated to Norway in 1938, then a year later to Great Britain. Travelled repeatedly to India. Came back to West-Germany in 1956, where in became professor for Philosophy of civilization at the University of Münich.
