Economic crisis and mental health from the viewpoint of the youth counselor, 1933

Viktor Frankl

pp. 3-6

One of Viktor Frankl's earliest articles on the then developing third Viennese school of psychotherapy, i.e. logotherapy and existential analysis. Reports on Frankl's early cases as youth counselor between the two world wars, i.e. in years of severe economic crisis. Deals with the existential needs of young people without work (i.e. unemployment neurosis) and offers clinical guidelines for psychotherapy and counseling with the unemployed.
