Places for leisure as interactive space of the city

Silvia Serreli

pp. 45-64

The spatialities of contemporary social life derive from the systematic movement of people for their work and everyday life, leisure and pleasure (Sheller and Urry 2006). Urban behaviours are affected by continuous dematerialisation practices and by a large number of link-ups that are constantly being redefined. In universal mobility and interchange, subjects operate in networks interacting on different scales within multiple geographies (Oakes 193).
