Die Gefühlstheorie des Kieler Philosophen und Begründers der Neuen Phänomenologie, Hermann Schmitz (*16.05.1928), ist in der Emotionssoziologie bis dato nahezu unbekannt. Das erstaunt insofern, als es sich hier um eine Philosophie der Gefühle handelt, die in ihrer Anlage deutliche soziologische Züge aufweist. Das Besondere und soziologisch Interessante dieser Gefühlstheorie besteht nämlich darin, dass sie Gefühle als etwas Überindividuelles entwirft.
