The future of religion in the West

prospects at the beginning of a millennium

Louis Dupré

pp. 15-24

Eugene Long has taught and written at an exciting time: just when philosophical theology was recovering from the onslaught of positivist philosophy in the twentieth century. The revival of the discipline in America owes him a considerable debt. Not only did his own writings significantly contribute to this reconstruction, but the symposia and colloquia that he organized and edited in memorable collections, extended his influence on American philosophy. He sustained that influence through the International Journal for Philosophy of Religion which he has edited for many years.
