(1997) Issues and images in the philosophy of science, Dordrecht, Springer.
As is known, the classical Hempelian scheme of scientific explanation requires the truth of the explanans. Some contemporary philosophers of science claim that this requirement should be abandoned. The aim of this paper is to discuss their arguments.
