(2017) The phenomenology of learning and becoming, Dordrecht, Springer.
Chapter Nine concludes the text with a few final remarks concerning education and pedagogy. A distinction is made between education (as closely associated with educational technique) and pedagogy as a form of deep and responsible relatedness. This portion of the text includes a discussion of trends in education, including a return to the question of student engagement. Consideration is also given to the relationship between human becoming and the formal classroom environment, a relationship that can sometimes be seen as detrimental to self-development.
