(1969) Le domaine humain / The human context, Dordrecht, Springer.
The apparent euphemism, "passing on," proves to be, in Sudnow's study, an accurate and apposite phrase describing the passage of a human being through a particular historical context of social events and social practices which go to make up a concrete social definition of death.
