When I reflect on the words used to describe the term "writing' in the M crosoft Word Dictionary, I see just how open the meaning of this word is. The definition speaks about what we do with writing but it doesn't say precisely what writing is - leaving that as broad as possible, symbols that are written down somewhere (page, space, computer chip) as vehicles for communication.
