(1991) Genesis and development of Plekhanov's theory of knowledge, Dordrecht, Springer.
Plekhanov's first reflections on epistemological problems date back to the 1890's. By that time he had already acquired a certain prestige: his writings had deeply influenced the emergent young generation of Russian Marxists and his name was very well-known to social-democratic leaders and to the police of half of Europe.
