(2017) Heidegger and the death of God, Dordrecht, Springer.
This chapter discusses the philosophy of Soren Kierkegaard and Thomas Nagel, and provides the conclusion to the book. First, Kierkegaard's philosophy is reconsidered in the context of the Gigantomachy, in particular, as another thinker, alongside Heidegger, of Platonic methexis (participation). Second, Nagel's critique of scientific reductionism and arguments for Platonism and Cartesianism are discussed in light of the Gigantomachy. I conclude in agreement with Nagel, and against Heidegger and Nietzsche, in favor of traditional metaphysics (Platonism) and elements of Cartesianism.
