Theatre has always been an "event" that we attend. Yet, what precisely does it mean "to attend" theatre, what is the nature of (theatrical) attention, and what happens when we pay particular attention to the phenomenon of (theatrical) sound? Sounding out and seeking answers to this set of questions is the overarching purpose of this book.
