Topographies of the mind
In Portia Coughlan Marina Carr journeys further into the Midlands interior, continuing a cycle of plays where language and the landscape are reflective of the central female characters. Portia is married to Raphael Coughlan with three young sons and appears to have it all, "marriet ta wan a" tha richest min i"tha county, beauhiful house, beauhiful clothes, beauhiful everthin".
