(2017) Film/music analysis, Basingstoke, Palgrave Macmillan.
The academic study of film music was launched by film scholars in the late 1980s and early 1990s—Gorbman, Kalinak, Flinn. In the last fifteen years, the field has been conquered by musicologists and the Film Departments have mostly retreated from the study of music in films. The reasons of this shift are examined, and the need for a stronger engagement of film scholars in this field is advocated.
