(1976) Marxism and religion in Eastern Europe, Dordrecht, Springer.
Marx's views on the nature of Communist society and on the means of achieving it form an important part of Marxist theory. An examination of the status of these views in various versions of contemporary Marxism can therefore serve both as a means of evaluating the original doctrine and of comparing divergent contemporary positions. It is the aim of this paper, by means of such an examination, to provide an overview of contemporary Marxist theory.
